Private First Class McFarland was born 17 March 1943 in Winter Garden, Florida.  He left Florida and went north to New York City and later enlisted in the Army in New York City, NY  He was a PFC, Co. C, 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division.  He was killed on 20 March 1966 in Vietnam and is buried in Washington Park Cemetery in Orlando.
