On March 1, 2015, Central Florida was saddened to learn of the death of a friend and true American hero – LTC Earle L. Denton, USA Ret.
Earle was a highly decorated veteran of Korea and Vietnam. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Silver Star. Following his retirement, he continued to work for the benefit of all veterans and especially through his great work and influence in bringing the VA hospital to Orlando and making the Central Florida Veterans Memorial Park adjacent to the hospital become a reality.
He was also a leader and mentor in the modeling and simulation industry and in his community. He was an active member of multiple Orange County Government committees and special task forces. He was also named Orange County Citizen of the year three times. Earle served as a Director on the Board of the Central Florida Veterans Memorial Park Foundation.
His family has asked that in lieu of flowers, that donations in his honor and memory be made to the Central Florida Veterans Memorial Park Foundation, Inc. (cfvmpf.org).
Earle Denton will be missed by his family, and his many friends including all of the members of CFVMPF. Everyone who had the privilege and honor to have known Earle, remember and honor him with great appreciation for his leadership and inspiration.
